Aaron Paul, druggie on 'Breaking Bad,' makes the jump to film in 'Smashed'. . .to play an addict

Smashed is not a drinking game for NBC's "Smash" (although how sweet would that be---drink every time Julia dresses terribly). 

No, it's a movie about a married couple struggling with alcoholism, where the wife (Mary Elizabeth Winstead) quits drinking and the husband (Aaron Paul) continues. 

 

 

I really want this movie to be an Oscar contender because I love little films with big performances, which is what this looks like it could be. Honestly, you can't go wrong with Aaron Paul, who plays Jesse on AMC's "Breaking Bad." I don't understand why he's not in more movies, but maybe the BB schedule takes up too much of his time.

And would you look at that supporting cast? Nick Offerman? Megan Mullally? Octavia Spencer? If this movie sucks, the talent here is enough to drive you to drink.

gah. i love aaron paul! it was really weird seeing him in 'big love' a few years ago. also, is he not THE best at crying scenes? he better win something!
